GIMP Tools: Photographic Surrealism
Students learned how to use the open-source photo editing program GIMP while completing a variety of whimsical and sometimes humorous surreal photomanipulations. They also learned about the art of Salvidor Dali and mimicked his work with GIMP.

MyPaint Tools: Digital Painting
Inkscape Tools: Design
Students learned how to draw using the program MyPaint while completing anatomical drawings of the human skeleton and an album cover. These projects also required them to use their prior knowledge of GIMP.
Students learned how to use the tools in the program Inkscape to design company logos and create portraits of celebrities.

Inkscape Animation: Drawing and Movement
Students wrote stories for a short animation, then used MyPaint to create backgrounds and Inkscape to create their characters. They animated frame by frame with Inkscape and used Windows Movie Maker to convert the frames into a video.
Career Exploration: Portfolio Development
Students chose a career in multimedia art, and explored it on an individual basis. I worked one on one with them to help guide them through their exploration. They found inspiration and tutorials on the internet to help them with their focus.
For their final portfolios, they each created a website displaying their work. Below are examples of student websites.
