Perspective Drawing: Afro-futurist Utopia and Dystopias
Drawing Narrative: Comic Books
Students learned how to use perspective drawing to draw cities. At the same time, they researched different movies takes on Utopian and Utopian futures, as well as the Afro-futurist art movement. They synthesized this knowledge to create their own Afro-futurist Utopian or Utopian cities.
Students learned about the elements of plot development while researching different styles of comic books. They than wrote their own story and used that story to create a comic book. While creating the comic book they learned about using value to create depth in their work.

Sculpture and Movement: Claymation
Students researched popular claymation styles, and used what they learned about narrative from their comic books to create a story for their claymation. They than created sets in small groups and characters and used stop-motion techniques to create their own claymation videos.
